Double Digit snowfall totals brought some euphoria to many spots over the past 3 days with winners including Solitude Mountain (24 inches), Crested Butte (17 inches), Powder Mountain (15 inches),Aspen (16 inches), 49 Degrees North (15 Inches), Crystal Mountain (15 inches) and unconfirmed reports of 20 inches plus atMount Baker looking at snowtel data.
Additional snowfall in the Northwest will bring another foot or more to the highest elevations (Crystal, Stevens Pass Summits). The upper elevations ofMount Baker might see 12-18 inches. Rain will be likely at most base levels until Tuesday night when colder air changes the action to all snowfall with a trend for lower moisture and high pressure midweek. Coastel BC will likely be on the northern fringe of moisture however interior BC near Fernie could see moderate snowfall from this storm.

Was this a typo? Models now show consensus for moisture to increase over the Sierra early this week. Pacific Moisture in the NW skirts down the CA coast by Monday (Northern CA could see snow by Tuesday AM). The Sierra should see snowfall peaks on Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday, warm temperatures, light snow/rain at the bases and moderate amounts from mid mountain and higher (5-7). Temps drop later in the storm cycle with snowfall likely at Lake Level Wednesday/Thursday (4-8 additional) Snow showers might linger into Thursday night. Northern Sierra is favored with this pattern. Don’t expect any single deep dump but long term numbers should produce. My fingers are crossed!
The Rockies should see another round of light to moderate snowfall towards the end of this week. You might see some fresh powder for the season opening at Grand Targhee this Friday! Some models hint at a decent event for the 4 corners next weekend as SW flow becomes a prominent player over Colorado, New Mexico and Arizona.
