Low pressure stalled over Nevada over the past 48 hours and welcomed much needed snow for the Sierra. Up to 18 inches fell along I-80 near Sugar Bowland 6-10 inches towards Squaw andAlpine and further south. Snow picked up in the Wasatch last night with up to 9 inches near Alta according to automated weather stakes. Light snow will increase again over the Wasatch tonight. Colorado should see snow pick up over the 4 corners tonight and eventually move through Aspen, Crested Butte and all of I-70 on Wednesday (3-7). Steamboat will likely see powder with cold air orographics kicking in late tonight. The Tetons in Wyoming have picked up 4-9 inches at upper elevations and the models call for snow showers to continue through Thursday.

Long range models are showing a trend for several storms to impact the Northwest and British Columbia beginning this weekend and into next week. Significant snowfall is likely during this time period with perhaps the highest amounts occurring late this weekend.
Most of the moisture remains in the Northern Rockies (Whistler, Interior BC, Rogers Pass), Idaho, northern MT, and WY. The 14 day models show a trend for storms to drop further south into the California by the following weekend (November 9-11). These will eventually migrate over the southern and central Rockies.
