Las Leñas is known for the Marte chair. It’s like heli skiing via chairlift.
Two days after a major storm dumped 3 feet in the valley and 8 feet on the upper mountain, the Marte opened for business.
Skiing knee deep powder in 3000 foot couloirs is why the chair is so famous. There are a fair share of wind hardened fields teaming with sharks, #sharkweek. But that doesn’t stop anyone, and neither does the amount of core shots one racks up in a day.
The final result, not only smiles from ear to ear and face shots for days, but a restored happy feeling felt by all in the high mountain Argentine town.
