Two Italian women have been killed on Mont Blanc after their party of six climbers were hit by an avalanche. The bodies of the two women, 37-years-old and 41-years-old, found buried in a crevasse on the Tacul glacier. The groups guide was also found buried in the crevasse and is currently in critical condition.

chamonix.net is reporting that, “The avalanche occured around 4am when a block of ice, close to the summit of the Tacul, fell onto the snow field below and triggered the avalanche.”

The avalanche occurred on a subpeak of the Mont Blanc Massif near the top station of the Aiguille du Midi cable car.
