A quad chairlift at the popular Argentine ski resort of Cerro Cathedral derailed this afternoon injuring eight. Six were taken to a local hospital in Bariloche. Four remain hospitalized and under observation.
The hospital has reported that one of the women suffered a fractured femur, while another suffered a dislocated hip. “They are in common room or therapy observation. Everyone is out of danger,” explains Councilman Ramon Chiocconi.
Strong wind gusts of 90 kilometers are believed to have caused the derailment.
