Backcountry Ski Touring Class at the University of Utah
Students in the U’s Backcountry Ski Touring class learn essential skills for navigating mountainous terrain during the winter season. Route finding, map reading and avalanche awareness techniques are all covered so students can enjoy the ample amount of world-class terrain that is just minutes from campus. These decision-making skills honed under what can be stressful scenarios can also enhance decision making in academic and real world situations.
