Update: Well that was quick…. Two minutes after this post went live Squaw Valley announced that it will be Opening KT-22 tomorrow. Hooray!

It’s looking like KT-22 is getting close to opening for the 2012 – 2013 season. Today, Squaw Valley had KT-22 loaded with chairs and was running the chair for most of the day. From the looks of it ski patrol has already set up the necessary polls, rope and signs giving further evidence that KT will open sometime soon. But just how soon? Our guess is sometime tomorrow.

If Squaw does not open KT-22 tomorrow things get a bit more complicated. A massive storm with high winds and heavy snow is set to impact Tahoe sometime tomorrow and should stick around until Christmas. There is no doubt that KT will open following the massive storm but will Squaw open KT for the season during a storm cycle? Hard to say.
