KT-22 Will Open Tomorrow!

Update: Well that was quick…. Two minutes after this post went live Squaw Valley announced that it will be Opening KT-22 tomorrow. Hooray!

It’s looking like KT-22 is getting close to opening for the 2012 – 2013 season. Today, Squaw Valley had KT-22 loaded with chairs and was running the chair for most of the day. From the looks of it ski patrol has already set up the necessary polls, rope and signs giving further evidence that KT will open sometime soon. But just how soon? Our guess is sometime tomorrow.

If Squaw does not open KT-22 tomorrow things get a bit more complicated. A massive storm with high winds and heavy snow is set to impact Tahoe sometime tomorrow and should stick around until Christmas. There is no doubt that KT will open following the massive storm but will Squaw open KT for the season during a storm cycle? Hard to say.

A bunch of ski bummin politicos around here! The ski resort management company putting restrictions on its tennants, socialism it is! Or is it capitalism..? Whatever it is fuck all these Bay Area gappers clogging up my lift lines!

    • Ski Bum

You mean the same Bay Area skiers that pay a lot of the bills at Squaw and provide jobs for the people that operate “your lifts”. Reality check…If it wasn’t for tourists, locals, and Bay Area skiers (the Marin, SF, and Silicon Valley types) with money, you wouldn’t have lifts to ski on. The U.S. is a Western Capitalistic society, last time I checked.
      Btw, it’s tenant, not tennant.

Isn’t this post about KT opening? What does beer or no beer, PBR or other otherwise, at Dave’s Deli have to do with KT being open? Btw, it might be a good idea to confirm that this is really true. So much info that is posted on this site is either not true or the whole story is unknown. Remember the G.N.A.R. burger story? Maybe UO should do the research and post about that subject after the truth is known.

This is what happens when government or corporations control things ! What would Alex do?It’s everyday a little more socialism!NO BEER at Dave’s what the fuck over.

This is a bad call on KSL’s part but you need to look up the definition of socialism. Maybe you meant dictatorship but I am guessing you no idea what that means either.

Squaw is going to open KT, but KSL is killing Dave’s Deli, after 36 years at squaw, KSL has told Liz she can no longer sell beer. This may be the end of Dave’s. I guess KSL really does stand for Kill Squaw Locals.

yep, one of the worst things i’ve heard out of this whole KSL deal. it started with no PBR, now it’s no beer period. so shitty.

You mean to tell me you haven’t opened up your best lift yet?

    • Ski Bum

      Well Mr. BC
KT 22 is not always the best lift at Squaw Valley but it’s one of 33 lifts we have and conditions are very good. Unless you’re talking Whistler, there’s no place in BC that even comes close to Squaw Valley for terrain, number of lifts, consistent snow, and total raddness. Squaw is very versatile and the best lift is the one I’m riding on a powder day!
