Opening day at Alpine Meadows and the skiing was fantastic!

If you are debating whether to head up to Tahoe this weekend or stay down in the Bay I have some advice for you. Come ski Alpine, you will not regret it. Conditions are super from top to bottom with vast amounts of terrain open for early December skiing.

The skiing at Alpine is about 100 times better than the skiing at Squaw Valley right now. Alpine is enjoying long runs and many off piste options easily accessible from the Summit 6 Chair. The groomers are set up nicely and the off piste, despite being firm in the morning, is flat and very skiable. Mike, of Mountain Mike’s Sports, referred to it as “backcountry skiing from a chairlift.” By noon, the firm flat surface was transformed into a primo sun cooked surface on all South, East and West aspects.

Highlights of the Day: The Idiots, Estelle and Beaver Bowl.

Look at all the open terrain!

See you on the hill.
