it’s a-comin'

This is an almost an insult.  Good ole Mama Nature might even think this is funny.  After the worst snow season in a damn long time, summer is having a hard time setting in.

Memorial Day Weekend saw snow in Tahoe.  

Now, it’s June and we are looking at another day of summer snow.  We’re looking at a temperatures Monday night and Tuesday night of 27F.  Monday will see some high elevation snow, then snow down to lake level on Monday night…

NOAA.gov FORECAST DISCUSSION:

RAIN AND SNOW WILL SPREAD INTO THE SIERRA AND NORTHEASTERN CA BY MONDAY AFTERNOON AND THROUGH MONDAY NIGHT, WITH OVER 0.5″ LIKELY ALONG THE SIERRA CREST AND INTO WESTERN LASSEN COUNTY. SNOW LEVEL WILL START VERY HIGH AROUND 8000 FEET MONDAY AFTERNOON, THEN DROP TO 5500 FEET BY TUESDAY MORNING IN RENO-TAHOE. COULD SEE SOME LIGHT SNOW ACCUMULATIONS AROUND LAKE TAHOE MONDAY NIGHT AND EARLY TUESDAY MORNING OF UP TO AN INCH, ALTHOUGH PRECIP WILL BE TAPERING OFF AS THE SNOW LEVELS COME DOWN.

Monday: Rain, mainly after 11am. High near 57. Windy, with a southwest wind between 20 and 30 mph, with gusts as high as 45 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Monday Night: Rain likely before 11pm, then a chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 27. Breezy, with a west wind between 20 and 25 mph, with gusts as high as 40 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

Tuesday: A chance of snow showers before 11am, then a slight chance of rain and snow showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 47. West wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
