Whistler’s World Ski and Snowboard Festival loses TELUS as a sponsor

Festival organizers are looking for new sponsor(s) as TELUS -all of the sudden- decided they would no longer sponsor the World Ski & Snowboard Festival

Is This Decision because Whistler didn’t get the X-Games  ?

TELUS spokesman Chris Gerritsen said the decision is completely unrelated to to Whistler not getting the X Games bid and said:

“It is the end of the sponsorship agreement in its current form and we are in negotiations with Whistler Blackcomb for future sponsorship opportunities, so we look forward to our continued relationship with them”  -Pique Newspaper

Telus looks at its sponsorships every year making decisions based on what is best for the brand and the company.

-But Telus has sponsored the WSSF for the last 13 years.

So Why the sudden back out?
