That’s right, it’s un-OFFICIAL!  Snowbird will end their season on Sunday, May 13th, 2012.

There had been plans to open the following weekend but those have been thrown out the window.   However, through the end of season you can ride the Tram, Little Cloud and Mineral Basin Express from 8am-2pm.

Currently there are no plans to force downloading the Tram at the end of the day.  There are also no plans to re open for Memorial Day weekend.

As of May 1st, 2012:

  • Snowbird has received 383 inches of snow, OVER TEN FEET short of their 500+ average, and FOUR HUNDRED inches short of last season.
  • Currently an 82 inch mid-mountain depth with complete coverage to the base.
  • By May 13th, if you are a powerhouse skier, you could have 178 days of skiing.
Dismal forecast
Break out the trash bag ponchos

The rest of the week appears like it will be some lack-luster skiing.  With Rain/Snow in the forecast nearly every time period.

With Rain/Snow everyday there won’t be too much biking or climbing, are you going to sit on the couch with a bag of chips, or sit on a chair lift with a bag of beer?
