This is a weird one, but it’s true: A Black Bear attacked a 65-year-old Canadian man who was “using” in an Outhouse at Dunbar Lake in Ontario, Canada Saturday. "I'm sitting on the throne, and my feet are sort of up on the 'poopstool,' we call it. So I'm kicking at him to get away, but he grabbed my pants that were down around my ankles. And that was the start of it, and he just kept coming.” - Gord Shurvell, dude who got attacked

Bear and Outhouse

This is a weird one, but it’s true:

A Black Bear attacked a 65-year-old Canadian man who was “using” an Outhouse at Dunbar Lake in Ontario, Canada Saturday.

“I’m sitting on the throne, and my feet are sort of up on the ‘poopstool,’ we call it.  So I’m kicking at him to get away, but he grabbed my pants that were down around my ankles. And that was the start of it, and he just kept coming.” – Gord Shurvell, dude who got attacked

This guy was sitting in the outhouse taking a dump when a black bear kicked in the door and started attacking him.  The bear kicked in the door, grabbed Gord Shurvell, and dragged him about 50 feet from the outhouse.

“I’m screaming for my buddy to come with a gun.” – Gord

fact: bears dig outhouses

Gord’s fishing buddy, 63-year-old Daniel Alexander, was in a nearby cabin, heard the commotion, grabbed his shotgun, and shot the bear while it was attacking Gord.

“I started out of the cabin and something clicked in, and I thought ‘bear.’ I turned around, went back into the cabin and got the gun.” – Daniel Alexander, bear killer

After shooting the bear the first time, it turned away from Gord and came at Daniel.  Daniel then killed the bear by shooting it in the face.

Gord was left with puncture wounds and lacerations on this head and back which he was treated for in a local hospital.

Whoa!  Now that, is a bear story.  What’s YOUR best Bear Story?
