April 16th Whistler held the second TTR Event of the Telus Festival the Snowboard Slopestyle.  The course was set up on Blackcomb’s Black park.  As they say in Whistler, if you want a storm hold a contest. The weather was terrible, the speed kept changing and there was little to no visibility.  It was so bad that they canceled the qualifiers and went straight to the finals.  A lot of the competitors dropped out but the ones that stuck around really sent it!  I guess $25,000 in cash waiting for the top 3 is pretty good incentive to huck as hard as you can blind off a huge jump.  The awards ended just about the time the finials we supposed to begin and sure enough, just as the awards were wrapping up the weather broke and it was clear! Gotta love the west coast weather! Antoine Truchon powered through the fog to win $15,000, Ian Thorley came in second for a decent $6,000, and Logan Haubrich took third and a not to shabby $4,000.
