Matt Ladley finished fourth Thursday at the Winter X Games Europe.

Ladley placed fourth at the European X Games Snowboard Superpipe. He had a hard time putting together a clean run on his first two runs of three in the finals. On his third run, Ladley scored an 85 at the event in Tignes, France. Shaun White was first with 98, Louie Vito was second with 94.33 and Iouri Podladtchikov was third with 88.

This was White’s first appearance at Winter X Tignes. “To everybody here tonight,” said White, addressing the crowd at the bottom of the pipe after his victory lap, “this is by far better than Aspen.” White earned a perfect 100-point score for the gold medal at Winter X Aspen in January 2012. White’s nearly perfect run (again)– which included a switch cab double cork, a double McTwist 1260 and an alleyoop rodeo on the last hit — scored a 98.
