Squaw has gotten 30” from on the upper mountain since Monday night.  Now, that snow is getting rained on.  That said, Shirley was good and fun early this am.

Right at 9am, the skiing was good up on Shirley…on the upper half, at least.  Creamy, smooth, and surfy…just like KT was yesterday morning.  The lower half was sticky, wet, and slow.  Luckily, it quickly started raining to the top of Shirley and that rain soaked the snow completely and that lower half got much less sticky.  Still sticky, but less sticky.

Shirley Chutes Squaw Valley today

SQUAW UPPER MOUNTAIN CONDITIONS TODAY:

– 30” storm total

– Shirley & Gold Coast open up top

– Shirley was fun up top, sticky down low

– Raining to the top of Shirley as of 11am

– Siberia may be Open right now

Rock Pile and Granite Chief today

Shirley Chutes were fun and very skiable.  Rainbow bowl over on Solitude was filled in and good (but the traverse back wasn’t worth doing twice).  And that’s about it.  We got completely soaked thru by 11am and had to come in.

It appears that they got Siberia open.  There is a chance that the Reverse Traverse is open and that people are skiing Headwall right now.  Although, I think that’s unlikely and they can have it.  That rained on snow is getting pretty nasty.
