On Monday the Brewers Association released official statistics regarding the growth of craft beer sales and market volume in the US in 2011.  Up 13% in market volume since 2010, craft beer continues to surge while the macro-lager market continues to struggle.  Here’s a cool ‘infographic’ designed by the BA that illustrates how far craft beer has come since 2005.

These are olympic numbers for the craft beer industry and pure evidence that the American public’s taste in beer is evolving.  Even during the stressed out times of our economy, beer drinkers in general have shown that they are willing to spend the extra couple dollars on a quality product rather than save a couple dollars on six extra cans of the cheap stuff.  Selah…

May the wild fire that is the craft beer movement continue to rage!

Cheers!
