The Jose Cuervo Peak to Valley race in Whistler is the logest GS rece in the world with over 180 gates! It is a team event and to stand any chance of seeing the podium the racers must delicately balance a balls-out crash or win approach with a team-oriented survival strategy; and even then it is simply left to luck. Some sort of luck was on the side of team Unofficial Whistler this year, as we all made it to the bottom crash-free, a feat in its own considering the youngest competitors run last and battle canyon-like ruts and our team is quite young. But a podium spot wasn’t in the cards for us this time.

This video is a Contour POV by Kyle Lobisser. Kyle was the anchor and blazing fast racing veteran on team Unofficial Whistler. Here is his run that turned out to be a time of 6 minutes and 2 seconds. That is very fast in this race. Now imagine a 6 minute wall-sit… while holing a moose. That’s kinda how your thighs feel after this race.
