These are the heavy hitters in the industry for gloves.  If you are hard on your gear, have cold hands, tour a lot, or work on the mountain slaying bamboo and ropelines you know these two gloves are a must have.

THE NORTH FACE PATROL GLOVE II

9.4/10  Hands down the best all around glove.  For skiing pow everday and climbing mountains this glove performs.  Suple leather palms combined with Gore-Tex infused with neoprene stretchy like breathable soft shell material, this is the glove.

PROS – amazing waterproof lining, plastic vapor barrier,  works exceptionally well with the leather. TNF has dialed it in, great cuff for the wrist, smooth layering.  WARM, nice and toasty.

CONS – Spendy retails for $125.  They never seem to have enough of this glove, selling out,   totally worth the cash.  A really warm glove for touring in spring conditions, too sweaty at times.  Leather cracks without attention after 100 + days.

Marmot Exum Work Glove

8.9/10  My Favorite touring glove/long days lots of skinning.  In general most skiers have two pairs of gloves, or 3 or whatever gets the job done.  This is the ALL-STAR that started it all.

PROS – The leather is primo, nice and thin, good touch on the ski pole, easy on and off, and the wrist cuffs are very similiar to TNF Patrol II a sweet addition.  Lighter glove so if you are a sweaty person this is an excellent choice, great with ropes, greasy ski lifts, taboggons, etc.  this baby does it all. MSRP $80.

CONS – Seams have been known to blow, bright annoying leather color kinda tacky looking, glove liner sometimes gets jammed funky fingers, unsealed leather freezes and these puppy’s can give you frozen fingers sometimes.

Which glove do you think deserves to be put in the same echelon as these?
