Banzai madness from Alpine Meadows
Banzai madness from Alpine Meadows

Daron Rahlves’ Banzai tour was confirmed to return to Alpine Meadows’ Beaver Bowl today.  The event will be held on Thursday and Friday, February 23rd and 24th.

“Alpine Meadows kicks off the Rahlves’ Banzai Tour with the Beaver Bowl Banzai.  Dropping into Beaver Bowl, speed picks up quick with lots of distance between the panels.  It’s a mental test looking down and at the other three you will battle.  It’s also physically demanding as it’s the longest on the tour.  Errol Kerr, Alpine Meadows Ski Ambassador put down the fastest qualifying time in 2011 at 1minute 9seconds.  Bottom of Beaver Bowl an option left or right line is where strategy plays a role.  If competitors choose to take the split, about 7seconds go by until they meet again.  The bottom side hill is a challenge and has characteristics of a mini Hahnenkamm traverse.  The finish at bottom of Kangaroo is a great place to hang and watch the action.  For spectators, on top of the avy dam or skier’s right to the top of Kangaroo and finish area are prime. Rahlves’ Banzai Apres Party, hosted by High Fives Org will be at The Last Chair Bar.” – Rahlves Banzai Tour

“The event will kick off with a “meet and greet” on Wednesday Feb 22nd starting at 5pm. Location, Moody’s Bistro, a chill atmosphere with great food and drinks in downtown Truckee. Amazing brick oven pizzas, tasty pasta, fish, steak, veggies and more to get you fueled up and ready to roll Banzai style.
We will have Banzai action playing on the big screen, a little sponsor swag to throw out and time to catch up and hang with others who share the same passion.” – Daron Rahlves
