Beautiful Bluebird Day

The day started for me around noon, knowing that by then the ice would be melted. Lift lines were almost non-existent along with the Tram line. The lack of people today was a nice change from the Christmas crowds.

Where is Everyone?

While taking the Peruvian Chair up, I noticed that the corduroy was still intact in many areas of the mountain making for some nice carving turns. The whole mountain today from Peruvian Gulch, Regulator Johnson, Gad Valley, and Gad 2 contained excellent (SPRING) skiing conditions.

At the Tram base, the mercury rose to a level you would expect in May with temperatures in the 40’s Bring your shorts and T-shirts the next couple days with highs around FIFTY degrees at 9000 feet.

Snowbird Ski Patrol took advantage of the weather today to catch up on their training. They weren’t the only ones playing with ropes today either. Many area climbers are taking advantage of the lack of snow and unseasonably warm weather and climbing in Big and Little Cottonwood Canyons.

I’ve been seeing a lot of dirty cars lately, I think everyone needs to get a car wash in order to inspire the Snow Gods to bring us snow.

Continue to ski cautiously as many rocks and hazards that were barely buried are now melting out.
