The Deep Winter Photo Challenge has come and gone, photographers lost sleep and an oversold crowd packed the Fairmont Chateau Whistler to watch six awesome slideshows, all gunning for the sought-after title The King of Storms. After watching the slideshows I had my pick for top three … and the judges had theirs. Let’s just say some slideshows were a bit more “doctored” than others. “I was impressed by the diversity of the shows this year” said photographer Ruben Krabbe, “The photographers all had to adapt plans in a big way due to the weather we were dealt, but we were treated to a whole new crop of slideshows“. But in the end Robin O’Neill took home the title. Jussi Grznar came in second and underdog Reuben Krabbe rounded out the podium taking third place. Rebun Krabbe also took home the award for best image of the night.
