Yesterday, federal climate scientists announced that the first half of 2012 has been the hottest on record for the United States. According to the report from NOAA’s National Climatic Data Center 100 cities have posted their warmest first six months on record. From January to June, a whopping 22,356 daily record high temperatures have been set across the USA but only 2,448 daily record lows during the timeframe.

FACTS

  • Winter 2012 = 4th Warmest on Record for USA
  • Spring 2012 = 4th Warmest on Record for USA
  • 100 Cities had their warmest first six months on record.
  • 28 States had their warmest first six months on record.
  • Chicago is almost 7 degrees warmer than average this year.
  • 56% of the country was in a drought in June
  • Only Maine was not in either a drought or “abnormally dry”
  • 43% of the nation’s pastures and rangelands are in “poor” or “very poor” condition.
  • 2.6 million acres has been charred in wildfires this year
  • Through May, the Earth saw its 11th-warmest year on record.

    Is climate change real?

Well first we have to establish the difference between weather and climate.
Do you know the difference? You can not establish if climate change is real based on one year that happens to be warmer than lots of other years. In order to understand how the climate is changing one must examine the long term trends, the question should be has every year been warmer? Or has the overall climate changed over the last 100 years?

Here in Colorado last year was wet and cool and this year has been hot and dry. But neither one of those reflects long term climate patterns.

does pumping greenhouse gasses into the atmosphere warm up the earth? yes. we’re about to hit 400 parts per million CO2, shit’s not going away people

There is no actual debate as to the validity of climate change among climate scientists, who are really the only ones qualified to speak on the issue. Scientists, regardless of what climate denires claim, abide by the rules of scientific exploration, accept the facts for what they are, and are not part of some conspiracy by the hippies. We’ve known about this for decades, it’s verified Not a politician who can spew any rhetoric they want so they can win reelection. What we’re seeing from many conservatives (notice I’m not saying all) is a fight against science and unfortunately it’s folks like “President BO’s Bull shit” who soak it up. I agree with weaksauce, even if it wasn’t in peril we should still cherish and preserve what do have of our environment.

I think it is about time Congress starts taking Global Warming Serious, before we get to a point of no Return.
NOAA released last week that Co2 in the atmosphere is the big part of the problem. NASA use to work with the FAA to Research Green House gases and Co2, however there no more NASA, to look at this serious problem. The Organizations evolved With Global Warming, are CONGRESS,EPA,NOAA,FAA, Airline industry, And the Oil Companies, and their Lobbies.

It is time Congress start Questioning These organizations, and know what are future holds, Like A Loaf of Bread @ 15.00 dollars!

WILL THERE BE A LIVABLE EARTH IN 20 YEARS?

There are over 7000 aircraft flying over the US at any given hour, FAA figures, and they are releasing from jet exhausts over 80,000 tons a hour of Co2 in the Jet Stream. Co2 creates oxygen from trees at ground level, but there are no trees at 20,000 feet, The life of Co2 can be up to 98 years. All this bad HOT weather including Tornadoes, draught, flooding, I credit to Co2 in the Jet Stream, as weather follow the Jet Stream. Why doesn’t the EPA do something? Because they are only authorized to monitor Co2 around the airports and particles that are 250cm or more, and no where else which Congress allowed due to the heavy LOBBISTS from the Air Line industry and the Oil Companies. These people don’t care if the BURN UP THE EARTH, as long as they show a profit! In 50 years or less the earth could look like their sister planet Venus. The Co2 level on Venus is about 88% and cloud cover over 95% Have you been wondering where your Blue Skies are more and more disappearing? The surface temperature on Venus is from 300-600 degrees. Nature is showing us Global Warming, are we to dumb to see it or doesn’t the Green house industries want us to see it?

The campaign issues this year should be to save the Earth, before their is no Earth that is livable. It is interesting That Texas is burning up because if the don’t know it is the Co2 that they are dumping into the skies and the Co2 that are coming out of the skies above them. If I lived in Joplin Missouri and that tornado tore my house apart, I would be one of the first people to sue the Airlines and the oil industry, and let the courts decide. That Jet Stream was smack over Joplin Missouri along with that Tornado, last spring. The same thing can happen next year only worst. As long as those Airlines are flying the jet Stream we will have those Weather disasters. In Europe they have Carbon tax per ton on the Aircraft. USA is the biggest polluter than any nation in the world for Co2 in the Sky!

Here are the figures 1 gallon of gas produces 20 pounds of Co2. 100 gallons of gas produces 1 ton of Co2 600 pounds of jet fuel(diesel) produces 1 ton of Co2. Jet fuel is 4 times more dirty than gasoline.

The law of conservation says nothing can be destroyed, it can only change form. All that oil that they are pump out of the earth, is now going up into your lovely Blue or is it Gray skies, have you notice how your puffy clouds, are now getting little Black bottoms, well if they start getting real black and a little black spout starts dropping down out of it, you better find a cellar. There is only ONE livable planet in this solar system, we destroy this, everything, and anybody and anything, becomes NOTHING!

we are already past the point of no return and the problem will correct it’s self though mass extinction. Then when the earth can only support 10 percent of the Human population we wont be able to mess it up anymore.

That data is hard to find, but while i was looking into the details on noaa, I read this in the same report that triggered all the articles: “Antarctic sea ice during June 2012 was 2.5 percent above average and ranked as 10th largest June extent in the 34-year period of record.” And sea ice is the big deal that these guys are always talking about. When I looked into that, apparently it is due to global warming too.

And as for jdlaughead’s puffy clouds–1934 was before the first jet flew–and was hotter than anything we have now in the US. How does that fit in with your theory?

Why don’t you realize that this climate change nonsense is just as big a business as old school oil–just look where our friend Al Gore makes his money? Then you will see why it is so imperative that we “fix” what is basically a normal cyclical occurence.

The world’s most recent glacial period began about 110,000 years ago and ended around 12,500 years ago. The maximum extent of this glacial period was the Last Glacial Maximum (LGM) and it occurred around 20,000 years ago. Dude–that is a frigging eyeblink in geology. And we are talking ice covering much of our big cities–within human history (we’ve been around for ca. 200000 years)

^well then there is also solar cycle to factor in. You combine all these factors together and of course the globe is going to heat up; and when Earth can only support ten percent of it’s current life then we will have mass extinction, the strongest will survive and life will evolve past humans eventually. Shit happens. live your lives, and dont worry so much.

  12. what we need is more particulate pollution to crowd out the sun. Large scale volcanic eruptions typically work best–but really really dirty industrial processes work too. All of this clean air initiative nonsense has increased the amount of sunlight tha reaches the earth & is a major cause of global warming. Think lots of dirty coal.

    Here’s what we can accomplish:

Here are some scientists that sort of say the same thing:
    http://www.ucsusa.org/global_warming/science_and_impacts/science/aerosols-and-global-warming-faq.html

Let’s get together and stop global warming by burningin lots of stuff–especially in the upper atmosphere–we need dirty jets!
