Best Snow Right Now- Who's Got the Pow?

We do…sort of

It seems to be a pretty rough start all around so far, Alps, Northeast, Jackson, Montana, Cali and even Utah.  All you La Nina strokers are starting to sweat it a bit now eh?  I guess Baker and Whistler did all right for a bit there, but now its looking pretty damn crunchy up that way.   California is looking frightening, sorry guys.  Any reports from the great white north?  How’s AK looking?  Who’s got the best snow?  Everyone gives us a hard time, (especially in a La Nina year) but I’m pulling for the San Juans based on a Deep Silverton Opening and then 10″ more following.  Throw your photo/video evidence in the comments section and I’ll post it up.  It may be one of those winters- just ski it if you got it.  Play hookey, move away, stop dating, just do what you have to do to get pow turns.

Jared Amongst Some San Juan Pills Last Winter

Thanks for the photo BFisch!  Wolfie looks DEEP

Gotta agree with the Wolf Creek comments…. I’ve made the trip from Denver 3 times already… caught Nov. 6 and 9th, and Dec. 6. All of these days have been DEEP enough to huck 30’s. HOT TUB BOMB HOLES!!! The Wolf is 100% open and going off, unlike anywhere else in CO. 50 inch storms make me wet!

Abe I will go Medieval on yo ass with my Ragged Top chainsaw, when you return. You know better..,. resist the urge to talk! Don’t talk about fight club bro.

I think everyone knows AK is the shit boys, just a matter of getting there/making it work up there. You’ll always have big fresh lines, don’t worry

cali ain’t that bad cause no one is on the slopes on the week days at northstar. the terrain might be limited, but I literally had run all to my self, noonish, on a bluebird day. nice chill runs, with some solitude. Ate lunch in some woods, only the trees and occasional passer by. It was like 50 degrees out..

just dont complain “that you just want summer already” when squaws winter lasts till the end of june.

80″ base at Alyeska. we have steady snow in forecast, today was a pow day, 14″ in 24 and counting fast. On our way to an amazing season, mountain opening up new terrain this weekend. we’ve been dropping cliffs, dropping in from peaks in the BC, skiing spines collies and bowls all november! December looking sick!!!

Ralph first rule of fight club??? Don’t talk about about fight club.
But lets be honest don’t forget to tell everyone about the relentless r@*# that AK is known for. Nothing close to the the Utah Pow or Squaw Pow that is oh so good; you would be disappointing your audience.

its true. i had a mid-winter pow day on nov 9 at the wolf. Conditions were good enough to drop rock for the first time of the year. definitely got spoiled though.

The Wolf! Wolf Creek, in SW CO does not disappoint! Been open daily since Oct.
60inch base 100 % open. They just had a 50 inch storm. It is where I would be if I wasn’t basking in the Cali sunshine!
