Shootin’ Guns

Ever’body in Tahoe, Truckee, Reno even Bakersfield keeps on complainin’ ’bout the snow. Boohoo this, can’t ski that, too warm, too darn sunny. Well do I have some news for y’all. Quit ur bitchin’, cuz just yesterday I happened on one of the best days me, ma cousin, ma cousin’s cousin and my two wives have had in a long while.

There we was just a cleanin’ out the double wide when we decided it was time for a new television. Me and the misses loves watchin’ all those good prime-time shows like “How I Met Your Mother”, “Biggest Loser”, and “Survivor”. After all, each one of those programs speaks to us as a family. So, we drove on down to Walmart and spent some of that extra money the misses has been savin’ from her side job down in Carson. Well Shiiit, it’s never too late to get one of them flat screens.

My old Panasonic 1991

Just about then my rotary dial phone started blowin’ up. I wobbled on over, answered it and it was my good ole buddy, Rusty.

“Wanna go shoot some guns?”, he questioned.

“How’d you know what I was thinkin'”, I thought to myself.

We drove on down to Truckee, motored up a hill or two, spun a few donuts in the woods, cracked a case of Budweiser’s and loaded up our shotguns. We started off on them clay pigeons, blastin’ um one at a time. We took aim at some old sweatshirts, some glass bottles, purdy much whatever we had lyin’ around. We fired off the 12 gauge and the 20 gauge. I don’t mean to brag but i am spot on with a shotgun. Ma girl’s spot on too. Could bust the beak off a tweety bird from 50 yards.

So there we were, me, ma girl, ma girl’s girl, Jenna, Rusty, his brother Mickey, his kid sister Christi and her island man, Konturi. What kinda name’s Konturi ? Well enough about that because here’s the best part of the story. The reason why I can’t complain nun about my days. Just when we thought there was nuttin’ left to shoot I popped open the back of the truck and busted out my 1991 panasonic television with a built in vcr. We set that antique hunk-a-shit about 50 paces out and opened fire on that sonofa-bitch! Needless to say we won’t be watchin’ anymore VHS for a while.
