Although it wasn’t the three feet of wet snow that we needed, we did get a very nice and much needed storm yesterday. Although Jackson Hole Mountain Resort is only claiming 3″ of new and 4″ in the past 48, it felt like more than that. Maybe we’re just a little powder starved. Either way, the “heavy” dusting provided a much needed improvement, helping out the rather “firm”conditions.

Winds, that were generally northwesterly, helped make the weak system feel a lot deeper in certain areas. The east and south aspects should be skiing well today, in addition to the trees. While there’s another light system forecasted for today and tonight, things are looking pretty clear up high on the web cams. We’ll see.

Although we’ll take whatever snow we can get at this point, it’s worth mentioning that the new snow did cover up the majority of unmarked obstacles (noted on the back of your pass) that were visible before.  So, be careful out there, as there definitely plenty of sharks still hiding!
