It has been an amazing Thanksgiving weekend in Jackson. The lifts started spinning and there was plenty of soft snow to be had. Jackson Hole Mountain Resort began the season with one of the better openings on record. 6 lifts were open proving quite a lot of terrain to explore in search of the stashes. First thing early saturday was quite a nice surprise with an untouched pallet of dense wind effected powder. It did not take long for most things to get tracked up, but still sunday afternoon there are plenty of pockets out there to slash.
It is such a bonus to be riding lifts at this time of year, and even better to be riding pow on the way down. What a great start to the 2011-12 season.
