There were loads of powder turns and butters at Alta today! I think there were more people than I have ever seen pre-season at Alta. There were kids jibbing at the bottom of the hill, skiers and riders all over the Baldy Shoulder and a few people even tried their luck at Snowbird. The snow was super good overall, but it was still thin as hell… I would guess that there was about 12″-15″ of new and if you stayed on top of the old snow you could dodge most of the rocks.
It would be worth it to go up and get some in the next few days….. just bring your rock skis.
