2012 The North Face Masters
The 5th season of The North Face Masters of Snowboarding presented by PrimaLoft, the largest open, big mountain snowboarding competition in the country, kicks off January 19th with an overall prize purse that tops $50,000.

The North Face Masters provides an opportunity for established riders, as well as up-and-comers, to put together a winning run during two days of cutthroat competition. Utilizing control, fluidity, creativity and style in choosing their line, riders embrace the features within the venue and showcase the progression of the sport.
Maria DeBari and the late Aaron Robinson dominated on the mountain and took home the coveted Katana sword in 2011. Robinson passed away this summer, and the A-Rob award has been created in his memory; it will be given at the final stop of the 2012 season in Kirkwood. In addition to the cash prize purse at each stop of the tour, The North Face Masters also recognizes riders under the age of 21 that demonstrate raw talent and innovation in their riding style for the Young Gun Award. One Young Gun is selected at each Masters stop, as well as a series overall; award recipients exemplify true sportsmanship and a passion for the mountains.
