What Nissan won’t be associated with at Squaw anymore. photo: freeride world tour / Dom Daher

It appears that Nissan will no longer be sponsoring the Freeride World Tour (FWT).  This is the word on the street and the FWT’s website no longer says Nissan anywhere on it nor displays Nissan in their list of Sponsors.

This a large blow to the FWT considering how much money Nissan has been throwing at this tour over the past years.  It’s tough to imagine that these tours make any money or that they generate enough exposure in this economy for it to be easy for the FWT to get another large sponsor to replace Nissan.  I hope they do, though as the FWT has been one of most exposed celebrations of big mountain skiing to date.

It’s going to be interesting to see who they can bring in to replace Nissan and if they have to make any management decisions or changes to accommodate their new situation and potential modification in support.
