On September 26 at around 7:30 a local black bear had a serious craving for some beef and blue cheese pizza, and everyone in Whis knows the best place for a beef & blue cheese pizza is Fat Tony’s so naturally the bear went there. As you can see in the video our bear very selective on what pizza flavors he enjoys and I can’t say I blame him. I love the pizza at Fat Tony’s however unlike the bear who ate a total of four pizzas, I just order one or two.
As most things on the internet this video went viral and the story was picked up but news outlets all over the world. The interesting part about this video is that it was released just before it was announced that Whistler has achieved “Bear Smart Status” a challenging award that is awarded to communities throughout BC who are focused on working to keep confrontation between bears and people to a minimum.
