Thursday August 25 Caviahue Resort hosted its first ever King of the Park competition. Formerly held at Cerro Bayo, this year in its fifth installation the King of the Park competition replaced jib sets and rails with two tables for a slopestyle and big air format.

Some of the best riders in South America turned out to compete for a $10,000 peso purse and a$5,000 first prize put up by Aeropuertos Argintina. Matias Schmit from Bariloche won the event stomping a backside rodeo double. 2nd and 3rd went to riders Matias Radaelli and Mark Green respectively. Juan Cruz landed the prize for best trick with an underflip 720.
