Squaw Valley/KSL has hired 3 new executives:
1. Todd Kelly will be Squaw’s new Ski & Snowboard Team Director
Todd is a local Tahoe boy who was a member of the US Ski Team from the age of 15 and competed on the team from ’86 to ’94. T-Nasty competed on the World Cup for 3 years and was the #1 US Super G skier during those 3 years.
TK started coaching as a FIS coach on the Squaw Valley Ski Team in 1998 and continued there until 2002. T-Ski then went to the Auburn Ski Club as a J3 coach, head FIS coach, race department director, and eventually became the program director in 2004. 2008 saw T-Kell move to Northstar to take charge as the ski team program director and race department director until 2011.
2. Mike DeGroff will be Squaw’s new Vice President of Resort Services
Mike will be responsible for rental, retail, base area services, facilities, security, shuttles, uniforms, and mountain .
Big Mike has been in the industry over 30 years mostly in Steamboat Springs, CO. He was Steamboat’s director of resort services for 16 years, their special events supervisor for 7 years, and was with the race crew for 2 years. Mikey established Steamboat’s award-winning recycling program and was the Co-Chairman of the FIS Women’s Alpine World Cup Organizing Committee in ’89 & ’92. The dude also worked for Steamboat’s Sheraton, Routt County Landscaping, & Mountain West Environments.
Mike-dizzle is a major overachiever and also was either the commissioner or a lowly board member for the Steamboat Springs Youth Hockey Association, Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club, and the Steamboat Springs Youth Soccer Association.
3. Gretchen Kielas will be Squaw’s new Director of Retail Operations.
Over 19 years of retail experience with 6 of those years in ski resort retail. Gretch has a BA in Fine Art from the University of Oregonia. Go rubber duckies.
