Get ready for a runners party this Sunday all around the Tahoe Basin. Marathon related events have been in town and popping since Thursday all over Tahoe. All of these great events are leading up to the 16th running of the Lake Tahoe Marathon that’s set for this Sunday, with the race kicking off in Tahoe City .
Reportedly, marathon related events have been going off all week. Thursday’s event was speed golf at the Tahoe Paradise Golf Course. Friday showcased kayaking and swimming at Lakeside Beach. Saturday featured the Great Lake Tahoe Bike Race, and this Sunday is the centerpiece event, the marathon.

People come from all over the country for these events in Tahoe, especially for the marathon. It should be a beautiful day on Sunday for the race, and a great day to wrap up several days of fun events throughout the Basin. For locals out there, remember that portions of Highway 89 will be closed on Sunday because of the race.
