Summer skiing in Tahoe with U.S. Ski Team athlete Travis Ganong. A few more laps on the home turf to get ready for winter on the underbelly of the world. Travis hiked it a couple more times than I did…

The snow could have been better, but hey, it was late summer in Tahoe. No complaints here.

Yesterday Travis Hopped a plane to meet up with the U.S. Ski Team in New Zealand where he’ll be shredding the South Island at freeway speeds. I’m leaving today for Argentina to sample some red wine, red meat, and pristine winter pow. These last few summer turns made for some good hiking at the end of July (August 1st for the POV shots). That sure was the first time I’ve ever skied that run in August.

Hope the snow is flying down south!

Hey did you know there is a creek that runs down that chute this time of year? You can see it through the big holes in the snow.  Keep an eye out for those if you’re going for an August ski.
