Golden Gate Park is about to go off! The Outside Lands Music Festival is one of the best musical gatherings of the summer, and the eclectic lineup is just as hot this year as it’s been in years past. Here’s a sneak preview of what you can expect if you’re thinking about making the trip.

3-day tickets are still available for 199.50. Single day tickets are also still available, but if you choose that route you’re going to have to shell out for the VIP tickets that’ll cost you 185 a pop. Each day the festival gates will open at 11 a.m. with music going until 10 p.m.

One of the greatest things about Outside Lands, and music festivals like this in general, is the diversity in music you get to see. You might be drawn to the festival to see one or two of your favorite bands, but sometimes it’s the acts you didn’t necessarily come to see that end up being the most memorable. In year’s past I’ve been fortunate to see some bands that I might not have travelled all the the way to the Bay Area to see, but was blown away after their set at the festival. Radiohead, Tom Petty, Pearl Jam, Tom Jones, Thievery Corporation, and the list goes on.

Beyond the music the food, wine, and beer are above and beyond at Outside Lands. Local artisans serve up the goods for three days ensuring you get proper nourishment while raging the several stages of top-notch music. Their sustainability efforts are also worthy to note.

You can get all the beta you need about the festival by clicking this link. There’s literally so many bands playing over the course of the three-days you have to click on the festival link to check out the full lineup. There’s got to be someone playing that you’d be stoked to catch. Saturday will be anchored by the Brit prog-rock band MUSE, with other heavy hitters like the Black Keys and Girl Talk. Sunday will showcase Montreal heroes Arcade Fire, and Friday will put the spotlight on Phish. If you happened to be on the South Shore the last two-days boy did you have good time! Tahoe went off for the last 48 hours partying non-stop, and Phish is sure to bring more fire to the hallowed grounds of Golden Gate Park Friday night.

If you’ve known about Outside Lands for months you’re already stoked, and I’ll see you there! If you’re on the fence, or just hearing about it for the first time, take a good look at the site and make it happen. Outside Lands has always been a good festival every year I’ve attended, and this one looks to be quite possibly the best one yet.
