We’ve got first hand reports from Las Leñas, Valle Nevado, Bariloche and it appears to be no contest. The only X-factor is Portillo. According to their website, they just got tons of snow and have killer conditions?
Bariloche appears to be winning hands down this year as we’ve been getting frequent snowfalls along with consistently good conditions. Right now, it’s pouring rain at the base of the mountain and raining to at least half way up the resort. The mountain is closed. But, it’s gonna get cold tonight and the snow and cold are forecasted to continue through Sunday, if not longer…
Catedral
– Snowpack mid-mountain: 130 cms
– Snowfall mid-mountain last 12hrs: 30 cms

Las Leñas

– Current Conditions as reported by Griffin Post:
“It was pretty phenomenal yesterday…It snowed up to a meter on the upper mountain and probably about 50cm toward the base. Marte, the only lift accessing the upper mountain and the really good skiing, has been fickle. It’s been open a few hours here, and a few hours there. Just as things seem to be turning around, there’s some other bad news worth mentioning: it didn’t freeze last night in the valley and freezing levels are supposed to rise to above 3000m this afternoon.
