Here are two killer videos of Hurricane Irene heading towards the east coast from our sister site Gcapitan.com.  The first (above) is a short visualization from NOAA with detail on where Irene is forecasted to make landfall.

The second video (below) is actual film from the International Space Station of Hurricane Irene at 4:27 p.m. EDT on August 26, 2011. Accompanied by narration from Expedition 28 Flight Engineer Mike Fossum of NASA, the video showed the massive system moving north at 14 miles an hour packing winds of 100 miles an hour some 300 miles south-southwest of Cape Hatteras, North Carolina.

Hurricane Irene began lashing the East Coast with rain Friday ahead of a weekend of violent weather that was almost certain to heap punishment on a vast stretch of shoreline from the Carolinas to Massachusetts.
