Unofficial’s lightweight ninja intern just got off the phone with the good people at Squaw Valley USA. He was interested in whether or not we’ll be able to hike this weekend and what will be open. The nice person on the other line told us that they hadn’t finalized their “hiking operations schedule.” So we were gonna have to leave you with a “maybe”, which isn’t that helpful.

Luckily, Squaw just announced, via Facebook, their exact “Hiking Operations Schedule.”

This 4th of July You’ll Be Able To Hike Here:

– Emigrant

– Headwall

– Cornice II

This means that there will not be hiking allowed on Granite Chief, which is surprising considering how easy it is to hike there from Emigrant and how much snow there is up there.

We all know that this is Squaw and if there is one thing that Squaw skiers and riders do, it’s push the boundaries.  We’re assuming that once up Emigrant, people will be cruising into Granite regardless.  We’ll letcha know how it goes down.

We’ll be keep you up to date live this weekend via Twitter.
