We’ve come a long way since July 4th, 1776.  Hell, we’ve come a long way since July 20th, 1969 (moon landing, see below).  But, that date is still my single favorite date in American history.  Regardless of your favorite moment, there’s lots to celebrate this 4th of July weekend.

Squaw Valley USA – 9:15pm – Free – Squaw is really pulling the weight with events this weekend:

Monday – July 4th, 2011:

Tahoe City – 9:30pm – Free – Common’s Beach – 65th year

Truckee – Dusk – $6/person (advance only call 530-582-7720)  – West End Beach on Donner Lake

Incline Village, NV – 9:30pm – Free – Incline Beach – Red, White, & Blue Festival all weekend from July 1-4 with opening ceremony, patriotic chalk drawing contest, doggie dress-up contest, beer  & brat tasting, brunch with Shakespeare, & a frecracker trail trek.
