What can I really say about The North Face Diez Jacket– it pretty much has it all. It’s light, it’s warm, and it’s compressible. At only 10.9 ounces, with 800 fill down, its warmth-to-weight ratio is second to none. Plus it can be packed down to about the size of a grapefruit. It’s a great piece to have for layering, or in case of emergencies. It is subject to getting wet, so I wouldn’t count on it for your outermost layer. Bring a shell.

Like most TNF pieces, it does come at a bit of a premium. The Diez Jacket runs about $200. However, like TNF pieces, it will last. The warmth, weight, and compatibility are worth it!
