Here in good-ol-Canada Hockey is IT! Hockey is everything and everywhere. I’m from the States and happen to love hockey, however back home Hockey is not everything and everywhere. It’s a bummer that the US doesn’t have a sport that we’re all stoked on. The rest of the world has soccer and Canada has Hockey.

I was fortunate enough to be in Vancouver during the Olympcis when Team Canada defeated the USA (in overtime) to win gold, and it was unreal! During the game, the streets were empty… but then they exploded: screaming, drunk, happy Canadians took over downtown.

The Vancouver Canucks

People have been waiting 40 years for the Vancouver Canucks to win a Stanley Cup and if they do the celebrations will be bigger than Olympic Gold. For those who don’t know… Vancouver is in the Stanley Cup Finals vs. the Boston Bruins. The Last time Vancouver was this close was in 1994 vs. the NY Rangers and they lost =  Vancouver riot

The energy in Vancouver, and throughout the entire Province is at an all time high! You can Feel the Buzz. So I wouldn’t be shocked if, win or lose, there’s another riot in Vancouver. All I know is that for all elimination games I’ll be downtown with my video camera.

Possible Riot daysWednesday, 8 June. Friday, 10 June. Monday, 13 June. Wednesday, 15 June.

According to Wikipedia: During the 1994 riot

50,000-70,000 people were downtown for the riot.

200+ people were injured

550+ police and RCMP were involved
