Nappy Roots- 9PM Friday May 27th, Town Square Tavern, $15

The summer music season kicks off this weekend with Nappy Roots, at the Town Square Tavern. Promoting their new album “Pursuit of Nappyness,” the Southern Rap (is that a genre) group is a solid bet for kicking off your Memorial Day Weekend. Get there early, it will be packed.

Jackson Hole Wine Fest- 7PM Friday May 27th, Snow King, $25/$30

Looking to sample over $400 wines from around the country? Check out Wine Fest at Snow King. A fundraiser for the Rotary Club, all proceeds go to scholarships for local teachers and students. It’ll be a good time, and a good cause.

Jackson Hole Tram opens for the “summer”- 9AM Saturday May 28th, Teton Village, $30

That’s right, Big Red reopens for the summer this weekend- to OUT OF BOUNDS RIDING ONLY. No in-bounds riding is allowed. With record snowfall, the schussing should be all-time; the weather, however, might not be. There’s so much snow the avalanche center is reopening. Bring your season pass- or buy a day ticket- and get in some more last turns. Sense of adventure required.

Jackson Hole Old West Brew Fest- 11AM (!) Saturday May 28th, Town Square Tavern

The Old West Brew Fest features over 20 breweries and two beer gardens for your beer sampling pleasure. Although 11AM might be a little early for this activity, it goes until five so maybe hit the tram up first. Or just go for the whole thing and try to be hero.

Mountain Man Rendezvous and Traders Row- 9AM-5PM Saturday-Monday, Fair Grounds

Looking for a little more wholesome activity than the beer/wine fest scenes? Check out the Mountain Man Rendezvous that celebrates pre-1840 western life. They even have a Candy Cannon- I’m not sure what that is, but it sounds awesome.
