Due to the horrific conditions at Squaw this weekend, namely the freezing temperatures, dumping snow, ice, and blistering wind, the decision has been made to Cancel the Cushing Crossing event that was scheduled for tomorrow May 29th, 2011.
What’s provocative, is that it’s been rescheduled for July 3rd! Through our amazing powers of deduction, Unofficial has figured out that Squaw will be open for the 4th of July Weekend. And if they don’t open for the weekend, then we just look stupid, and so do they. So, hopefully this puts some added pressure on ‘em!
So, yeah, Squaw will be open for the 4th of July…which we knew they would do as Alpine has already announced that they will be open for the 4th of July. What is Squaw gonna do? Let Alpine outshine them on the 4th? Hell no. Squaw is gonna sack up ( a distinct anomaly since Squaw is clearly a female), be open on the 4th of July weekend AND have the first ever summer Cushing Crossing.
Cushing Cross is the original pond skimming event in North America. Yep, all those other resorts are sippin’ our Cool-Aid once again. Why do they wanna be like Squaw so badly? I guess it’s because we’re so rad. Can’t really blame them then, can we?
Right now we only know one thing about 4th of July weekend: That it’s DEFINITELY GONNA SNOW!
