A look back at the great Kip Garre enjoying life in the French Alps.

Chamonix holds some of the best steep skiing in the world. Steep, dramatic terrain everywhere with liftaccess deep into the mountains. Truly the epicenter for extreme mountain culture. My first day back here felt good, a solo mission on the Capucin in deep pow! That really set the tone for the last few days, lots of Powder!!!
I was bummed to have missed two of my favorite skiers JT Holmes and Timmy Dutton compete here in Chamonix for the FWT, maybe next year, I would be excited to watch the boys ski in Chamonix. Congrats to Jackie, JT and Timmy for representing Squaw on the FWT and good luck on the Tram Face!!!!!!!
Since I have been here a few Tahoe skiers have arrived, Brennan Lagasse, Jeff Doste, Emily Turner and Jesse Bushy. Three days ago I was stoked to be able to join Emily on her first day of skiing in Chamonix, up the Aguille Du Midi for two 9,000 ft powder runs-yes 18,000 vertical feet in two runs. This video is from our first run in the Cosmiques Couloir, a classic line here in Chamonix. About 3,000 vert in the 45-50 degree couloir and then another 6,000 vertical feet of everything: rappelling, walking over rocks, navigating through glaciers and skiing pow all the way into town. We even saw a herd of Chamois cruising through the lower slopes. This day we were skiing with Italian freeskier Giulia Monego, Kevin Lorda and my good friend fast talking American Dave Rosenbarger who has been spending his winters here in Chamonix for the past 9 seasons. Thanks to the crew for a great day!
