We lost Shane on this day, two years ago, while he was ski-basing in the Italian Dolomite’s. His impact on the ski industry, and the ski world in general, was enormous, but perhaps more importantly, Shane showed us how to live life to the fullest, and never take ourselves to seriously. Thanks Shane!
what’s so inspirational about an excellent athlete who went **SPLAT** doing another stupid trick? get over it people! the guy pushed the enevelope and paid the price. simple. don’t try to glorify stupid dog tricks or a whiskey-bottle-in hand goofy lifestyle cut short doing idiotic stunts. who wants to follow that lead? gimme a break! the guy chose a path that left behind a widow and a fatherless kid. a real responsible 40 year old to influence other people’s lives. yeah right.
To each their own, but I think most of us celebrate the tremendous contributions he made to the sport we all love. Whether or not you agree with how he lived his life and whether or not what he did was responsible, I’m quite sure that most every person who skis today owes Shane a huge thanks. In one way or another, skiing is more fun today, for pretty much everybody out there, thanks in one way or another to Shane.
hot doddy, ur a prick
