Saturday, MAR 19 –Nations Cup. Skiers Plaza. 4pm. The GMC Nations cup sees Canada take on the United States in a head-to-head race format. This dual salmon format will see eight Canadian skiers take on eight American skiers, each selected from the national teams.
Saturday, MAR 19 –My Darkest Days. GLC. 9pm. The hard hitting Canadian post grunge outfit My Darkest Days comes to town to hedline the Jegermeister Ice Cold Contest Party at the GLC. The band has been on the road nonstop for nine months and has just played a show at the Sound Academy with Papa Roach and Buckcherry. They are blowing up and their album has gone gold in both Canada and the U.S. It all started when Nickelback’s Chad Kroeger was given a demo of MDD’s music and signed them to his 604 label. (he’s a douche). Anyway this music is hard rock for people who like to party while listening to hard rock, yeah okay. ummm. This is beer music and could make you believe that the dream for beer rock musicians is still very real.

Friday-Thursday, MAR 18-24 –PRAY FOR JAPAN. Harajuku Restaurant & Bar. A portion of food purchases at Harajuku Izakaua will go to help the victims of the earthquake in Japan. All proceeds go to the Red Cross. And there is already a donation box set up at the Fuji Market.
Sunday, MAR 20 –Japanese Tsunami Relief Dinner. Edgewater Lodge on Green Lake. Come and eat a 3 course special for $27.50. Only 200 entries are available and it’s on a first come basis. Free to enter and open to all ages and abilities.
