The springtime cream pow is a thing of beauty. The official report for last night was 9″ of new. I will confirm that the amount of snow was somewhere around 9″. Some places a little more, some a little less. Either way it did a hell of a good job covering up the bumps that have been forming up all over the Bird.

After catching the first boat for one of the first times of the year it was off to the Forbidden Zone. The snow in there was super good and the runouts below Forbidden, Mid and Upper Cirque were epically smooth. Baldy was cream-a-licious, as was Mineral. The tram line only stayed long for about the first hour and a half, after that everyone was all spread out.

I hada  blast charging around mostly solo and ticking off all my favorite cliffs. Most of them are super small now, but they are still fun to hit when the landings and runouts are that sweet.  The lower mountain was getting a little nasty by 12:30pm because the thicker snow was lumping up and smashing the legs pretty hard.  More small storms are lining up for the rest of the week, so it should stay really good up there.

Happy St. Paddy’s Day!!! Drink hard and get home safe.
