Telluride Gravity Works is the newest full service ski/snowboard shop in the area and has quickly become one of the best! With a MAJOR revamping of their space at 205 E. Colorado Ave, this place is a real state of the art shop with tall open ceilings and a modern design. They even went so far as building a sweet climbing wall on the western wall of the shop! Gravity Works is run by locals with Jorn Reiman calling the shots and a great staff to help you out. They offer excellent tuning services and have Herb Manning doing their mounting for them, probably the best guy in town for the job!
Gravity Works is selling some great gear such as Icelantic and G3 skis, Arbor, Ride, and Unity snowboards, and Rossignol, Union, and Flux bindings. Other brands they are carrying are Bern Helmets, Backcountry Access, Discrete, Electric, Flylow, Contour, Hestra Gloves, Smith, Pieps, Volcom, and ABS among others. Gravity Works offers demos for their ski and snowboard brands as well as helmet and Contour helmet cam rentals, pretty cool! In the warmer months, Gravity Works will transition into a full service bike/cycling shop, look for more details coming soon.
The climbing wall in the shop is one of the coolest and most unique features of Gravity Works. The wall offers over 90 linear feet of climbing, ranging from 10 to 20 feet tall with marked routes and bouldering up to 14 feet. They have 8 top ropes and 2 auto belays available with a nice 12 inch padded floor. A day pass for the wall is $6 and a 10 day pass is $50.
Gravity Works offers some great deals such as local’s appreciation day on the 13th of each month with 15% off all merchandise. They also offer a 2 for 1 edge and wax special as well as an awesome, in house full tune with free P-Tex for $50.
