I moved to Jackson for two reasons: the snow and New York City Sub Shop. Their cheese steak sandwich will, no s#$t, change your life. In heaven, I hope there are sandwiches this good.

However, even heaven has its drawbacks. First, the New York City Sub Shop is cash only. So, if your income “fluctuates” like mine, and you go for months at a time living on credit cards, this may not be your place. Second, it’s a bit pricey. At over $10 for a full (which is a huge meal, or two smaller ones), it’s not cheap- but it is a lot of food.

So, if you have a buck or two to spare, head on down to the New York City Sub Shop. It’s at 20 N Jackson Street, just off the main drag. The grinds are good, the people friendly, and the art on the wall weird as hell.
